Moquegua: MVCS and Southern Peru sign an agreement to execute a water and sanitation project

The Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS) and the company Southern Peru signed an agreement to finance and execute the work of drinking water and rural sanitation in the town of Yacango, district of Torata, in Mariscal Nieto, Moquegua.

The financing and execution of the work will be in charge of the company Southern Peru, through the modality of Works for Taxes, and will require a total investment amount of S/ 8,757,246. It is estimated that the works will begin in March. of the project, whose total execution period is 360 days.

The project contemplates the installation of 139 home drinking water connections and the construction of 137 basic sanitation units. More than 410 inhabitants of four communities in the town center of Yacango will benefit for the first time with access to quality basic services.

“The signing of the agreement is part of the articulated work between the different levels of government and the private sector. We have the objective of closing gaps and improving, and this investment will allow the population of the town of Yacango to improve their quality of life”, said the Deputy Minister of Construction and Sanitation, Javier Hernández.

Together with Vice Minister Hernández, the executive director of the National Rural Sanitation Program, José Jokashikawa, participated in the signing of the agreement; the general director of operations of Southern, Jorge Meza; the district mayor of Torata, Hernán Juárez; and Congressman Samuel Coayla.
