Repsol and Petroperú raised wholesale fuel prices by up to S/ 0.65 per gallon

The Peruvian Agency for Consumers and Users (Opecu) reported that the oil companies Repsol and Petroperú raised wholesale fuel prices by up to S/ 0.65 per gallon, including taxes. Thus gasohols and gasoline rise by S/ 0.65 per gallon, B5S50 diesel at S/ 0.60 and B5S50UV diesel for vehicular use at S/ 0.28 per gallon. The new fuel prices came into effect on Thursday, February 10.

“Likewise, bulk LPG rose S/ 0.153 per kilo or S/ 0.30 per gallon. The variations in fuel prices, with the exception of LPG and vehicular diesel, exceed those of their respective international references, unfairly and strongly hitting the economies of consumers in the country”, affirmed the president of Opecu, Héctor Plate Cánepa.

The director urged the companies to exclude the surcharges of gasoheles and gasoline, and asked the Indecopi intervene in defense and protection of the economic interests of consumers, a right established in the Code of Defense and Consumer Protection.
