Osiptel confirms fines against Telefónica and Entel

The Supervisory Body for Private Investment in Telecommunications (Osiptel) declared unfounded the appeals filed by the companies. In the case of Telefónica del Perú, there were 3 fines of 51 UIT each for a total value of S/ 673 thousand 200. The company Entel was imposed the payment of 8 fines of 51 UIT each, which gives a value of S/ 1 million 795 thousand 200.

In the case of Telefónica, through the resolution No. 021-2022-CD/OSIPTELpublished in the official newspaper El Peruano, it was reported that the company had failed to provide a Minimum Speed ​​Compliance Quality indicator for speed, in the second half of 2017, in the population centers of Chachapoyas (Amazonas), La Merced (Junin) and Sicaya (Junin).

The company Entel in 2018 would have incurred two faults considered serious by the regulatory body, failing to comply with the improvement commitments related to the objective value of the mobile public service quality indicator, during the second half of 2018, in the Santa Rosa urban population centers , Tamarindo, Tacabamba, Pativilca and Ayabaca, as stated in the resolution No. 020-2022-CD/OSIPTEL published today Friday February 11 in A Peruvian man.

And for failing to comply with the improvement commitments related to the Voice Quality indicator as verified, in the second half of 2018, in the Casma and Santa urban population centers.

As those committed by both companies are considered a serious offense, OSIPTEL The respective sanctions were filed, however, the companies appealed within the corresponding deadlines. Today it is known that these appeals were declared unfounded and the fines filed were confirmed, which in total add up to S/ 2 million 468 thousand 400.
