In eight days, the Minister of Agriculture, Pedro Álava González, must appear before the plenary session of the National Assembly as resolved by one hundred legislators seeking explanations from the official regarding the agricultural policies implemented in the face of the crisis in the sector.
The proposal to appear was presented by the legislator, Darwin Pereira (Pachakutik), who in the approved resolution asks Minister Álava to provide a report on the generation and application of agricultural policies in the face of the serious crisis in the sector, which includes the high costs of the inputs used in the agricultural sector, the constant complaints of corruption and the lack of price control of the support of agricultural and livestock products.
The official must also report on the results generated by the application of said policies and the projects aimed at complying with the obligation to promote sustainable food production.
According to what was resolved on February 10, Minister Álava, on the day of his appearance on the day of his appearance, must remain in the plenary hall, in order to respond to the concerns of the assembly members.
