Oil companies paid US$ 1,241 million in royalties to the State in 2021

The National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE) reported that the companies that work in the sector hydrocarbons They paid a total of US$ 1,241 million in royalties to the State during 2021.

This figure represents a growth of 143.3% compared to the US$ 510 million that oil companies paid for royalties in 2020.

In December alone, companies operating in the national hydrocarbon industry paid more than US$171 million in royalties in December 2021, which meant an increase of 122.5% compared to the same month in 2020 (US$77 million). .

Likewise, the SNMPE specified that the royalties for December 2021 were also higher than those reported in the same month of 2019 (US$ 64,200,000).

The energy mining union explained that, last December, companies in the hydrocarbon sector paid royalties: US$ 111,300,000, for the exploitation of natural gas, and US$ 16,100,000, for oil; as well as US$ 44 million for the production of natural gas liquids.

The SNMPE explained that the increase in royalties was favored by the increase in international oil prices and the natural gasas well as by the reactivation of the World economy and national.
