Mincetur and Mincul sign an agreement to promote cultural tourism

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) announced that the bases for the development of the cultural tourismafter the signing of the Inter-institutional Cooperation Framework Agreement between the aforementioned portfolio and the Ministry of Culture (Mincul) as part of the new government policy of the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo.

Given the new circumstances in the world, the tourists they look for new motivations for their trips. In addition to finding new places, they also want to learn about the customs, arts, memories and stories of the places that receive them.

“From the tourist activity it is possible to unite the countries, offering tourist experiences that revalue cultural identity, handicrafts, regional cuisines and art in all its expressions. What’s more, tourism improves the quality of life and can be that factor to rediscover ourselves as Peruvians in our diversity and multiculturalism”, pointed out the head of the Mincetur, Roberto Sánchez.

In this sense, the official indicated that strategic alliances will continue to be strengthened at the three levels of government, aimed at promoting the reactivation of tourist activity at the national level.

“From both ministries we will promote joint work with regional governments through the Regional Offices and Directorates of Foreign Trade and Tourism, and the Decentralized Directorates of Culture, carrying out campaigns for the protection, defense, conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage, granting our artisans and artisans spaces for the promotion of their traditional art”, said Minister Sánchez.

Agreement

The Inter-institutional Cooperation Framework Agreement is valid for five years and will allow Mincetur and Mincul to carry out joint actions, designed under a territorial and inclusive approach, which contribute to the sustainable development of the value chain of the sightseeinghaving as fundamental principles the preservation of the historical memory of the nation and the consolidation of the national identity.

Likewise, they will direct their efforts to carry out actions related to the strengthening and promotion of cultural industries and handicrafts, as assets for tourist activity.
