The Peruvian Association of Port Operators (Asppor) requested the Environmental Evaluation and Enforcement Agency (OEFA) to extend to 60 calendar days the authorization period for hydrocarbon loading and unloading activities at the Multibuoy Terminals No. 1 and 3 of Repsol’s La Pampilla Refinery.
In a letter addressed to the OEFA, Asppor indicates that the 10 days are insufficient to ensure that the suppliers of crude stop at docks 1, 3 or 4 of La Pampilla.
Likewise, they point out that “the 60 days ensure at least two landfalls and the complete process of the first, from refining to distribution to suppliers (marine, land and air)”.
Lastly, Asppor states that this term will avoid fuel shortages and price increases for hydrocarbon products and “the chain effect that it would have on the prices of essential goods and services, as well as on public transport and cargo and passenger private sector, affecting the economy as a whole”.
