CUT: “Peru requires a government change cabinet and economic-social agreement”

The president of the Central Única de Trabajadores (CUT), Julio Cesar Bazán Figueroa, spoke about the political crisis that the country is going through after the appointment of Héctor Valer as prime minister and the subsequent announcement by the president, Pedro Castillo, to recompose the cabinet .

In this sense, the union leader pointed out that “Peru requires a cabinet of change and a government economic-social agreement.”

“The political, economic and social situation we are experiencing derives from the hesitant policies of the Castillo Government and its cabinets, and from the conservative clumsiness of the extreme right and mercantilist right-wing groups,” Bazán Figueroa wrote on his Facebook account.

Likewise, he stated that the Executive does not “face with conviction the problems of development in Peru and neither do they knowingly assume the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the challenges of the UN 2030 Agenda.”

Finally, he emphasized that the economic-social agreement must have the 17 SDGs as its central axis, mainly objective number eight, which promotes inclusive economic growth and decent work.
