Produce: pisco exports grew more than 76% in 2021

The Ministry of Production (Produce), together with the National Pisco Commission (Conapisco), announced the recovery of the pisco sector after the setback suffered in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In that sense, Produce detailed that pisco sales between January and November of last year totaled 6.7 million liters, which meant an increase of 53.2% compared to 2020, when 5.8 million liters were sold. .

Of the total, sales within the country amounted to 5.8 million liters, 50.2% more than the previous year (3.8 million liters); while, exports amounted to 890,000 liters, which is equivalent to a growth of 76,5%.

“From the Ministry of Production we are committed to strengthening and developing the productive chain of the pisco sector. Along these lines, we will continue joining efforts, together with other productive actors linked to this sector, to position our flagship drink in the domestic market”, commented the Minister of Production, Jorge Luis Prado.

Finally, Produce indicated that the growth is explained by the resumption of economic activities, the revitalization of consumption as a result of the relaxation of social immobilization and capacity in restaurants.
