In January of this year, most of the indicators of the current situation registered a fall, while all the indicators of expectationswith the exception of the situation of the company in three months, show a recovery compared to the previous month, according to the Monthly Survey of Macroeconomic Expectations carried out by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).
Thus, in the first month of the year, seven indicators out of a total of 18 were located in the optimistic section, while in December this figure was eight. Businessmen’s expectations regarding input and sales prices for three months were reduced compared to December, the latter still in the highest decile.
One of the indicators that improved in January was the expectation of recruitment at three months and 12 months, which stand at 48 and 56 points respectively.
Meanwhile, the expectation of business investment in three months went from 43 to 45 points, continuing in the pessimistic range. While said 12-month indicator rose from 51 to 54 points, and was located in the optimistic section.
Regarding the expectation of its sector in three months and 12 months, this indicator stands at 50 and 62 points, both are in an optimistic range, according to the BCRP report.
