Repeal of the S / 210 bonus would prevent more than 1 million workers from receiving a subsidy

After Congresswoman Patricia Juárez presented a bill that seeks to repeal the emergency decree that establishes the granting of extraordinary bonus of S/ 210 In favor of the formal personnel of the private and public sectors, the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) reiterated to the Congress of the Republic not to approve this type of initiative.

The MTPE specified that, if this repeal is approved, it would prevent payment to 1 million 216,148 workers of the private sector who have been beneficiaries and have not yet been paid.

“In addition, it would generate a situation of inequity and injustice among those workers who will no longer be able to collect the 210 bonus, regarding the beneficiary workers of the public and private sector who have already received it,” the entity said in a statement.

Likewise, the Ministry of Labor ratified the pertinence and constitutionality of said norm, that is, in the fulfillment of the six substantial requirements demanded to dictate a emergency decree: economic and financial matters, exceptionality, necessity, generality, transience and relatedness.

As of December 2021, all public sector beneficiaries have already collected Bonus 210. In the case of the private sectorafter the previous processes, the collection began on January 21 of this year, having arranged the payment of 1 million 446,902 bonuses, which represents 54% of the workers.
