The Peruvian Association of Maritime Agents (APAM) demanded that the Peruvian Government annul Resolution No. 00013-2022-OEFA/DSEM, which paralyzes the loading and unloading of fuels at the La Pampilla Refinery, operated by Repsol.
Through a statement, the organization said that the Executive must inform the port community what contingency plan it has to supply the bunkering market (fuel supply) for ships calling at the Port of Callao.
Repsol supplies 60% of the bunkering market in our country, since Petroperú does not currently participate in the supply. The decision to close the Multibuoy terminals No. 1, 2 and 3, as well as Monobuoy T – 4 came from the Ministry of the Environment (Minam).
“We ask the Executive to weight decision-making if there is not an adequate contingency plan that covers 60% of the bunkering market for ships. We demand that, for the good of the country, this measure, which we describe as hasty, be annulled,” said APAM.
Repsol announced that it will abide by the decision, although it considered it “unreasonable and disproportionate”. To date, the Spanish capital company has failed to comply with four actions that it should have executed by mandate of the OEFA; he still has 8 other measures to comply with until March 3
“When measures are adopted without evaluating the collateral damage that derives from it, such as the one that concerns us in this COMMUNICATION, we will always be critical,” the union stated.
