The Spanish Government reiterates that the “legitimacy” of the labor reform must be guaranteed

The debate on the validation and repeal of the labor reform will be on Thursday and at the moment the Executive has not secured the support of its main parliamentary partners, PNV and ERC.

The spokesperson for the Spanish Government and Minister for Territorial Policy, Isabel Rodríguez, has once again called for all political forces to “endorse” the “legitimacy” of the decree of the labour reform that has been the result of an agreement with employers and unions and that will be debated on Thursday in the plenary session of Congress.

“We are going to be very cautious… I think all the groups are doing their thinking and thinking about the general interest of the country,” Rodríguez said in an interview on Monday, in which he did not reveal whether after the meeting he had with the lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, to negotiate the transfer to the CAV of the minimum vital income (IMV), has managed to guarantee its support.

The debate on validation and repeal of the labor reform it will be thursday and at the moment the Executive has not secured the support of its main parliamentary partners, PNV and ERC.

“The Government has been working in recent days and in these last hours to value that agreement and its legitimacy,” he said, referring to the pact reached in the Social Dialogue, “and that the political forces feel involved and endorse this proposal” .

Faced with possible support from the PNV, with an abstention from the decree, the government spokeswoman has asked “be very careful on these issues” and has reiterated that the desire is that “all the political forces can join in”.

Rodríguez has also wanted to distinguish between the labor reform decree and the IMV transfer to the CAV and has said that the Government “complies with all the territories” and they are “two different folders”.
