Mitxel Lakuntza: “The employers have decided not to repeal the labor reform”

The general secretary of ELA affirms that the value of the labor reform “is very little” and that the Government of Spain “has lied because it has not kept its word”.

The general secretary of ELA, False Lakuntza, assured this Friday that “the employers have decided not to repeal the labor reform” and that “the value of the reform is very low”.

Interviewed on the show Good morning Basque Country, Lakuntza has affirmed that from the beginning they have made a very critical reading of the reform and have asked to repeal it, since “the problem is the entire labor reform itself”. In this sense, he added that the reform does not present substantial changes.

For this reason, he has indicated that they have asked the parties for a negative vote because “it is the most appropriate way to repeal the labor reform”, but he has said that “the partners of the Spanish Government have not been the parties, but the employers”. He believes, therefore, that the Sánchez government “has lied and has not kept its word.”

The Government of Spain and the parties are in the final stretch of the labor reform negotiations. Today, the sovereignist parties in Congress are committed to not supporting the labor reform, but they are willing to continue negotiating. For her part, Minister Yolanda Díaz has assured that she is willing to continue negotiating until the last moment, since she sees the possibility of an agreement.
