LAB militants protest for the labor reform inside the headquarters of Adegi

The Gipuzkoa Business Association has condemned the “assault carried out with violence, intimidation and coercion”, and has announced that it will report it to the competent authority.

Dozens of LAB militants have entered, as a protest against the labor reform, at the headquarters of the Gipuzkoan employer’s association Adegi in San Sebastián, an action that falls within the Claim Day that the union has called for this Thursday.

Inside the facilities they have released leaflets and placed stickers of the trade union central, while outside they have concentrated representatives of the union behind banners with the slogan “Let’s make it possible in the Basque Country” (Let’s make it possible in the Basque Country), “No to labor reform!”.

the militants have been evicted of the facilities after 12:00 hours and have left the headquarters of Adegi, peaceably, chanting slogans in favor of the trade union struggle and against the labor reform.

In this way, LAB wants to “directly challenge” the employers, to tell them that “with this labor reform there will be no social peace in Euskal Herria”, as explained by the trade union center in a statement.

In addition to the Gipuzkoan capital, LAB has organized numerous other initiatives for this Thursday. “We are using today’s Vindication Day to say no to the labor reform that Madrid wants to impose on us, to demand that employers not apply it and make a commitment to decent employment,” he assured.

Adegi denounces the “assault with violence”

The Gipuzkoa Adegi Business Association has denounced the “assault carried out with violence, intimidation and coercion” that it suffered this Thursday at its headquarters by representatives of the LAB union.

Adegi, in a statement, has “strongly condemned” this action that “has affected the activity” of the Gipuzkoan employers, “both the workers of the house, as well as the people who carried out training activities at our headquarters”.

Along these lines, he stressed that “throughout its more than four decades of existence, it has shown its attitude and ability to reach agreements through dialogue”. In this way, he stressed that “in a democracy, labor demands have channels for their defense, such as the social dialogue and/or the different areas of negotiation of agreements or pacts, and obviously the right to demonstrate, which is another channel for the defense of rights, interests and claims”.

In this sense, it has been announced that report to the competent authority “the assault suffered this morning” and trusts that events like these “will not be repeated”.
