BCRP: Non-primary manufacturing rose 7.8% in November compared to pre-pandemic level

Non-primary manufacturing grew 1.7% in seasonally adjusted terms in November 2021 compared to the previous month, and was 7.8% above pre-pandemic levels (in 2019), mainly due to the higher production of consumer-oriented goods. investment, supplies and the foreign market, according to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).

Compared to 2020, non-primary manufacturing grew 8.9% in November of last year.

In the production of investment-oriented goods (17%), the growth of the metal products and industrial services branch stands out. The increase in the production of supplies (8.9%) is a reflection of the growth of the branches of printing activities, natural essences and paper and cardboard packaging.

Likewise, the higher production of goods oriented to the foreign market (13.6%) was due to the growth of the manufacture of fabrics and knitwear, garments and yarns, fabrics and finishes. The increase in the production of consumer goods (3.3%) reflected the growth of branches such as beer and malt, bakery, clothing and miscellaneous manufactures.
