SNMPE requires Repsol to allocate resources to remediate areas affected by oil spill

The National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE) reiterated this afternoon its request to Repsol to continue deploying, as quickly as possible, all the necessary efforts to resolve the consequences of the oil spill at the La Pampilla Refinery – Ventanilla .

Likewise, it announced that it has initiated an internal process at the associated company Repsol Peru and has summoned its representatives to provide a detailed report on the spill that occurred on January 15, 2022. In addition, it called on the company to adopt the decisions and actions to prevent situations like this from happening again.

On the other hand, he reported that the SNMPE companies have made their equipment available to control the damage caused by the spill.

“We inform that the companies of the SNMPE of the hydrocarbon sector with experience in the matter, have made available machinery, equipment and knowledge, for the control and containment of the damage caused, which is the most urgent for the recovery of our environment” , wrote the institution in a press release.

Finally, he lamented the damage caused to the flora and fauna of our coastline, as well as to the artisanal fishermen in the area and their families.
