UNI urges the authorities to be more severe so that Repsol remediates the oil spill

The dean of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering of the National University of Engineering (UNI), Alejandro Mendoza Rojas, exhorted the competent authorities to severely apply the pertinent regulations. In addition, it demanded from the company responsible for the serious pollution of the sea in Ventanilla-Callao, Repsol, immediate environmental remediation both on the beach and in marine waters.

“We must mention that it is very striking that an international company like Repsol does not act with the speed that the case warrants, and it seems that it does not have a serious and adequate contingency plan that effectively and quickly resolves the pollution generated to avoid further damage” , they indicated.
