Unions ELA, LAB, Steilas, ESK, Hiru and Etxalde have called for on January 30 demonstrations in Bilbao, Pamplona, San Sebastián and Vitoria-Gasteiz against the labor reform agreed by the Spanish Government with the CEOE employers’ association and the CCOO and UGT unions.
This mobilization has been presented at a press conference offered in Bilbao by the representatives of these unions.
The marches, planned for the 12:00 noon, will be developed under the motto “No to this labor reform” and the mobilizations will add other claims such as the defense of the Basque labor relations framework and the rejection of “cheap dismissal”. The demonstrations will start from Plaza Moyua, in Bilbao, from Alderdi Eder, in San Sebastián; from Plaza Bilbao, in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and from the old Bus Station in Pamplona.
At the hearing, have denounced that “the decisions in Madrid on an issue of such importance” for Basque workers, which, in his opinion, “reveals the limits of self-government” in the Basque Country and Navarra. They have denounced that it was precisely the social agents who did not represent the workers nor to Basque citizens those who have made decisions on this matter.
In addition, they have reproached the Spanish Government for not keeping its word and for not repealing the labor reform “unilaterally imposed” by the Popular Party in 2012.”Not even He has done what he promised, why not? has reversed the most damaging elements of that labor reform”, they have denounced.
In addition, as announced, concentrations will also be held in workplaces the day before the vote on the labor reform.
