Sunafil: more than 3,000 inspections in 2021 ended in infractions for COVID-19 at work

The National Superintendence of Labor Inspection (Sunafil) reported that during 2021 it carried out a total of 7,436 inspections, of which 3,224 ended in an infraction record for cases of COVID-19.

The result corresponds to the inspections carried out in the companies, where it was inspected that they comply with the plans for the surveillance, prevention and control of COVID-19 at work. In other words, it was verified that they take the necessary measures to prevent the spread of the virus in the workplace and that the health of the workers is not harmed.

Of the total, 6,520 inspections were carried out as part of operations deployed in Lima and regions, while 916 were due to complaints filed by employees.

In this sense, the regions with the highest number of inspections were Metropolitan Lima (3,986), Junín (458), La Libertad (434) and Ica (333).

Inspections carried out in 2022

Finally, Sunafil reported that so far in 2022 it has carried out a total of 250 inspections, of which 128 ended in violations for cases of COVID-19 and 122 ended in a report.
