Euskadi and Navarra close 2021 with a rise in the CPI of 6.4% and 6.6%, respectively

The rise in inflation is largely due to the rise in the cost of electricity, food, and hotels and restaurants.

The Consumer Price Index (IPC) increased in the Basque Country by 1.2% during the month of December in relation to the previous month and shot its yoy rate until the 6,4 %, according to data made public by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

For its part, Navarra has closed the year 2021 with an increase in the inflation rate of 6,6 %, one tenth more than the national average and nine tenths more than in November.

At whole state, prices also rose by 1.2% in December compared to the previous month and raised their year-on-year rate to 6.5%, one point above the rate for November and its highest level in 29 years, due to the increase in the cost of electricity, food and hotels and restaurants.
