Netflix reported this Tuesday that they obtained a profit of 4,508 million dollars between January and September 2021, more than double the 2,219 million generated during the same period last year.
Thus, the firm based in Los Gatos (California) invoiced during the first nine months of the year 21,988 million dollars, above the 18,351 million in the same period of 2020.
Netflix specifies that its shareholders, for their part, pocketed $ 10.18 per share between January and September, also more than double the $ 5.04 earned last year.
Currently, the streaming platform has 213.5 million paying subscribers worldwide, which is 9.4% more than what was observed in 2020.
As indicated by the company itself, the program that has helped them the most to shoot the audience figures in recent months is Squid Game (The Squid Game, translated from English), a South Korean production released on September 17.
However, EFE recalls that the method used by the platform to define a viewing is very controversial: it is enough for a subscriber to watch a specific content for two minutes to be counted as a viewer.
Thus, they conclude that the company keeps everything related to its audiences with absolute secrecy, which are not audited by an external company as traditional television networks have used for years.
