Congress seeks to repeal DU on the payment of the S / 210 bonus to formal workers

The Constitution Commission of the Congress of the Republic approved the repeal of emergency decree 105-2021 that authorizes the payment of the S / 210 bonus aimed at formal workers.

The control opinion was approved by 11 congressmen in favor and 6 against. And its debate is scheduled in plenary this week.

According to the president of the Constitution Commission, Patricia Juárez, the decree of the Executive Power is unfeasible because it deals with budgetary matters. And, according to the commission’s report, it does not qualify as an extraordinary measure, which is why it had to go through Congress.

“It is not an unpredictable situation that requires exceptional legislation. It does not meet the exceptional criteria, since by November 14, 2021, the date that the DU was approved, it was already known that the effects of the pandemic would still continue in the country, losing the character of an extraordinary situation, and the Executive Power had to foresee the expenses that were had to face the fight of the pandemic during the presentation and debate of the budget law, “said the parliamentarian.

It should be noted that this bonus is aimed at about 3 million formal workers, both in the public and private sectors, who receive salaries of less than S / 2,000. This involves 80% of the total.

Likewise, the subsidy has already been deposited to 250,000 state workers and payment to those of the private sector is planned in the coming weeks, for which the platform for consulting beneficiaries has already been enabled.
