Mincetur expects to have S / 300 million for SMEs

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) in 2022 plans to have S / 300 million available to grant soft loans that allow the economic reactivation of small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in the tourism sector, the head of the portfolio reported yesterday, Roberto Sánchez Palomino, during the balance of his management in 2021 and the projections for this year.

“We are now preparing to have S / 300 million soft loans that will allow the reactivation of the mypes of the sector in fiscal year 2022 ″, he stated.

The investment would be part of the FAE-Tourism program, which in 2021 benefited 1,010 SMEs for an accumulated amount of more than S / 78 million.

In this sense, Sánchez Palomino highlighted that last year his office made the Executive Board of Tourism official, which links six ministries with the entire private sector to evaluate, characterize and make joint reactivation decisions.

In this way, the head of the Mincetur highlighted that between August and December his portfolio launched a series of competitive programs that benefited professionals, artisans and small businessmen linked to tourism.

Among them, in addition to FAE-Tourism, They are Tourism undertakes, Design your tourism strategy, We are crafts, among others.

In addition, Sánchez Palomino emphasized that in the second semester of 2021 more than S / 40 million were invested in the improvement of the tourist infrastructure, however, he pointed out that this amount would double this year.

“Previously, S / 43 million was allocated for investments, in 2022 S / 80 million will be invested in infrastructure, that is, double the investment commitment,” he concluded.
