The first flight of the Equair airline covered the Quito-Guayaquil route

Condor and Albatros are the two Boeing 737-700 NG aircraft that crossed the Ecuadorian skies for the first time on January 10.

With an arch of water, as a welcome sign and a good omen, The aircraft named Condor of the Equair company took off from Quito on its first flight in the country.

At 08:50 on this Monday, January 10, 2022, the Boeing unit arrived at the Main Port from the capital. The tour marked the beginning of the airline’s operations in the country. Hours before (06:20), the unit baptized Albatros also crossed the Ecuadorian skies and covered the same route.

Equair’s Condor and Albatross are Boeing 737-700 NG aircraft, and they are two of the four aircraft with which the company will operate in its first year.

According to a company statement, the company has the goal of offsetting the carbon footprint. “Equair thus becomes a pioneer in national aviation by paying back, from the first flight, the environmental impact of its passengers by investing in ecological projects in the Latin American region.”

Quito airport welcomed Equair with the traditional water arch.

The two inaugural flights of the airline were attended by national authorities, such as the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Marcelo Cabrera, and officials from the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries; municipal officials, representatives of the tourism union and businessmen of the country.

Equair announced, during its first trip, that in honor of the city of Guayaquil, tourist class travelers will receive the name CACAO, and those in the premier section will be called GRAN CACAO, recognizing the agricultural quality of the Guayas province. (I)
