The staff of the Avanza Durangaldea de Bizkaibus concessionaire faces a day of strike today

The strike affects several Bizkaibus lines that operate in the Eibar, Elorrio, Ermua, Llodio, Mondragón and Orduña areas.

The staff of the company Avanza Durangaldea, which provides the Bizkaibus road passenger transport service in the area of Eibar, Elorrio, Ermua, Llodio, Mondragón and Orduña, is summoned this Monday to a day of strike to denounce the “blocking” of the negotiation of the collective agreement expired in 2020. In addition, the works council does not rule out new days of strike in February and March.

Avanza Durangaldea has more than 350 workers and more than 75 buses in the areas of Eibar, Ermua, Mondragón, Llodio, Orduña, Elorrio, with its connections to Bilbao.

On a note, the union IS IT OVER THERE has indicated that the works council has called the strike day “due to the refusal of the Avanza Group to renew the agreement expired in 2020, and due to the cuts and non-compliance of the company in different matters”.

On the first day of the strike, the workers concentrated in the Lemoa garages at 05:00, and already at Bilbao there will be a manifestation that will depart from the Zabalburu square at 09:00 hours, and that after touring the city center it will end at the Transport headquarters of the Biscay Provincial Council.
