In this sense, the president of Indecopi, Julián Palacín, requested the Institutional Control Body (OCI) of this entity and the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic, an evaluation and control procedure of the Sworn Declarations of Interests of the members and commissioners of all decision-making bodies designated in previous administrations, as they could be involved in possible conflicts of interest.
This is due to the fact that the SDC is integrated, among other members, by Silvia Hooker, who is also manager of International Affairs of the National Society of Industries (SNI), who voted in favor of lifting the fine considering that the Peruvian Law and the Manual of Advertising Warnings “do not require parameters for trans fats”, and in Instead it applied guidelines from the US Food and Drug Administration.

“Likewise, I have ordered, regarding the complaint recorded in the newspaper La República, that this new complaint also be forwarded to the Technical Secretariat of the PCM Instructional Bodies, so that it may proceed within the framework of its powers to determine the possible administrative responsibilities that may exist ”, added.
