MEF will work with the regions to unlock 16 prioritized projects

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro Francke, assured that the Government of President Pedro Castillo will provide face-to-face technical assistance to sixteen prioritized public investment projects for 2022. For this purpose, it will coordinate with each of the regions where they are immersed.

During the inauguration ceremony of the decentralized Council of Ministers in Moquegua, he assured that the country has the necessary resources to unlock and expedite public investment projects, in pursuit of the development of the regions. For example, this year S / 428 million were allocated for the budget of the local governments of Moquegua.

“From the MEF we are willing to work closely with regional and local governments, so that for the first half of this year, face-to-face technical assistance will be provided for 16 prioritized investments with 18 training sessions and 150 technical consultations,” he said.

In this sense, he specified that his office will insist before Congress to develop a new tax scheme for the mining sector, which he considered could make a greater contribution. As it is recalled, the delegation of powers aimed at this tax increase was not granted by the legislators.

“However, we will insist on dialogue with Congress because we think that, at this juncture, there may be a higher tax,” sent Francke Ballvé.

Gas de Camisea: they ask to accelerate massification

President Pedro Castillo raised the possibility of accelerating the massification of natural gas from Camisea in the southern regions. He referred to the presentation of a preliminary report by the Multisectoral Commission in charge of “expanding natural gas reserves and strengthening the hydrocarbon industry for the massification of natural gas at the national level,” which yesterday extended its work of coordination until the end of January.

“Yesterday I had a very important report from the commission that was formed to see the case of the massification of the Camisea gas. It is necessary for Peru to have all this information and we are looking at the possibility of accelerating it, “he said.
