They propose the industrialization and diffusion of the consumption of Peruvian olives

Congresswoman Betssy Chávez Chino, from the parliamentary group Peru Libre, presented a bill that proposes promote the industrialization and diffusion of the consumption of olives and Peruvian olive oil, in order to generate development in the olive sector.

“As well as improving their productivity and competitiveness. Also, declare the fourth Saturday of the month of November of each year as the National Olive Day ”, he says.

In addition, with draft law No. 1105/2021-CR seeks to create a national registry of olive producers with details of the district, province and region, which will be in charge of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, the Ministry of Commerce Foreign and Tourism and Ministry of Production.

The project presented on January 6, 2022 details that it proposes to formulate training plans in order to strengthen the capacities of producers, promote fairs, festivals; conduct research and technology transfers; and promote the consumption of olives and olive oil at the national and international level.
