President Pedro Castillo raised the possibility of accelerating the massification of natural gas from Camisea in the southern regions.
During the opening ceremony of the decentralized Council of Ministers in Moquegua, the president pointed out that the recovery of oil blocks, as well as the massification of natural gas, respond to the promise of renewing the country’s energy matrix.
“We have come to work for the country. We have just recovered, for example, Lot I in the Piura region, and that is important. Now we are going to recover lots 192 and 64, we are in full swing, “Castillo said.
He also referred to the presentation of a preliminary report by the Multisectoral Commission in charge of “expanding the reserves of natural gas and strengthen the hydrocarbon industry for the massification of natural gas at the national level ”, which the day before extended its coordination work until the end of January.
“Yesterday I had a very important report from the commission that was formed to see the case of the massification of the Camisea gas. It is necessary for Peru to have all this information and we are looking at the possibility of accelerating it, “he said.
“Starting work with the Talara refinery, giving some surprises, such as installing its own urea production plant, all of this is part of this government’s commitment. That in the southern macro-region there is a way to implement gas with the sister republic of Bolivia, return sovereignty to the Peruvian people, “he added.
