MEF and the Judiciary work in specialized courts to resolve tax debt cases

In an interview with a Sunday program, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro Francke, announced that his office and the Judicial Power are already preparing specialized courts in tax matters to speed up the solution of some cases that even the State, through Sunat, cannot collect.

The head of the governing body of the Peruvian economy explained that there are certain unpaid tax processes that have already dragged on for some years, even decades. Therefore, the MEF and the PJ They seek that these procedures are no longer postponed when the tax reform talks begin.

“There are a series of tax claim processes, to Sunat, Tax Court, Superior Court, Supreme Court, the entire judicial process. Sometimes that takes too long and that is one of the issues we want to influence, “he said. Francke in dialogue with Punto Final.

“In coordination with the Judicial Power, a supreme chamber specialized in tax and customs matters is being opened, due to its specialization and because it has its complexity, from the legal part to the economic calculation,” he said.

At another time, he stated that this Monday, October 18, they will begin working sessions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for this to advise them on tax matters, in relation to the case of the special tax on mining.

Likewise, he did not rule out that José de Echave could be one of the people in charge of working on the issue.
