Camisea: gas renegotiation commission will have 16 more days to present final report

The Multisectoral Commission in charge of “expanding the reserves of natural gas and strengthen the hydrocarbon industry for the massification of natural gas at the national level ”will extend the deadline for 16 more days to deliver its final report to the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

As announced by La República, through resolution No. 002-2022-PCM published today in El Peruano, the Executive modified article 6 of the previous provision, whose period of 60 business days expired yesterday, Thursday, January 6, 2022.

“The Multisectoral Commission has a validity of seventy-six (76) business days, after the date of publication of this Supreme Resolution; term in which the final report will be presented to the Ministry of Energy and Mines ”, states the norm.

It should be remembered that the working group is made up of the PCM and the heads of the Minem, MEF, Minjus, Mincetur and the Chancellery, as well as the Vice Minister of Hydrocarbons and the President of Perupetro.

Its function is to prepare a report on the progress of the massification of natural gas at the national level, as well as the development of the infrastructure for its massification in the regions of Cusco, Puno, Apurímac, Arequipa, Moquegua, Tacna, Ayacucho and Ucayali; in addition to the mechanisms that allow promoting and guaranteeing the massification of the resource.
