The Automotive Association of Peru (AAP) reported that there was an increase in the purchase of vehicles during 2021. In the case of automobiles, it increased by 7.1%, according to information from the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI).
The manager of economic studies of the AAP, Alberto Morisaki, indicated that this increase also affected motorcycle purchases in 12.4% and those of bicycles in 8%, influenced by the higher exchange rate and demand.

This increase in the purchase of vehicles during 2021 occurred in a context in which the Consumer Price Index (CPI) or inflation in Peru had a large increase (6.43%), the highest level in the last 13 years.
