Mincetur: Government authorizes transfer of S / 11 million to reactivate the artisan sector

The government of President Pedro Castillo ordered the transfer of up to S / 11 million in favor of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), in order to reactivate and promote the craft activity through the “Strategy to Reactivate and Promote the Craft Activity” We are Crafts – 2021-II “.

Through Urgency Decree No. 095-2021, the government also establishes that Mincetur may use up to 1 million of this amount for planning, implementation, follow-up and monitoring expenses, charged to the resources of the Contingency Reserve of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

“This financing will be applied in favor of artisan economic units made up of individuals with business and legal entities that carry out production activities and commercial articulation of artisanal products, which have been affected in the execution of their activities by the continuation of the emergency sanitary ”, refers the document.

The holder of the statement Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sanchez, is responsible for its proper implementation, as well as the use and destination of the resources included in the application of this emergency decree, in accordance with current regulations. The resources that are transferred within the framework of this emergency decree cannot be used, under responsibility, for different purposes for which they are transferred.

Precisely, the ‘Somos Artesanía’ program, with the aim of providing liquidity to the country’s artisan units and promoting their economic recovery in the context of covid-19. In the first edition, 2 million 93,600 soles were allocated and 218 artisans benefited, including natural and legal persons.
