The Ministry of Production (Produce) established the catch limit for the deep-sea cod (Dissostichus eleginoides) resource for 2022, which will be 166 tons, applicable to extractive activities carried out by fishing vessels with a fishing permit. fishing current.

However, said quota may be modified according to the biological-fishing and / or environmental factors that the Institute of the Sea of ​​Peru (IMARPE) estimates, for which it must be referred to the Produce the recommendation with the corresponding measures.

Likewise, it is specified that once the established quota is reached, the extractive activities will be terminated or when IMARPE recommends it. Its execution may not exceed December 31, 2022.

The General Directorate of Supervision, Inspection and Sanction of the Vice-Ministerial Office of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Production will adopt the control measures necessary to ensure compliance with the norm.

In the event of non-compliance or of committing an infringement in the development of fishing operations and processing of the deep-sea cod resource, a sanction, according to the general fishing law and the regulation of inspection and sanction of fishing and aquaculture activities.
