The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) reported that credit to the private sector -which includes loans granted by banks, financial, municipal and rural savings banks and cooperatives– increased 0.7% per month in November compared to the previous month, with higher growth in credit granted to individuals.
In this way, the interannual growth went from 3.2% in October to 3.6% in November, with which the third month of consecutive acceleration.
By coins, credit in soles registered a monthly growth of 1.0% in November, positive rate for the tenth consecutive month; while that of dollars was -0.4%. The interannual expansion rate of the loan in soles increased from 4.7% to 4.8% between October and November; and the interannual variation of loans in dollars went from -1.8% in October to -1.3% in November.
By segment, credit to companies increased 0.2% per month in November, with small and micro-enterprises registering a higher monthly expansion rate (1.0%), followed by corporate and large companies. Business (0.2%). With this, the annual growth rate of loans to companies went from 3.6% in October to 3.3% in November.
Meanwhile, personal credit increased 1.7% in November compared to the previous October, the fourth consecutive month of growth. This monthly increase is explained by the greater expansion of consumer and mortgage by 2.4% and 0.8%, respectively. Likewise, year-on-year growth accelerated from 2.8% to 4.1% between October and November.
