MEF transfers more than S/41 million to municipalities for investment projects

The funds will go to the elaboration of technical files and the execution of public investment projects, thus improving the local infrastructure.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has authorized the transfer of 41 million 115,645 soles In favor of 20 municipalities that won the Fund Contests invests for territorial development (FIDT) 2023 and FIDT 2023 II. This measure was approved by the Supreme Decree 033-2025-EFpublished today in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

What are these funds for?

The transferred money will allow the municipalities to finance two types of key expenses:

  1. Preparation of technical files: Before executing a public investment project, it is necessary to have a detailed document that specifies how it will be done, how much it will cost and how long it will be executed.
  2. INVESTMENT EXECUTION: Some municipalities will use these funds directly to initiate or continue the construction of works in their locations.

How were these municipalities chosen?

The municipalities benefited participated in the FIDT competitions, a fund created by the Government to support development projects in different regions of the country. This fund replaced the Previous Foniprel program and is designed to finance works that improve the quality of life of the population.

How will these resources be handled?

The amounts assigned to each municipality are detailed in the annexes of the decree, which can be reviewed on the MEF website (www.gob.pe/mef).

The municipalities that received these funds have Five calendar days To break down and approve how they will distribute the money. In addition, the decree establishes that money can only be used for approved projects and not for other purposes, under the responsibility of municipal officials.

With this measure, the Government seeks to accelerate public investment in different regions of the country, facilitating the execution of works that benefit the population.
