CTS Retreat: What is the new project?
Despite the opposition of the Ministry of Economy and other specialized entities in the field, Congress insists on approveing a new Retirement of the CTS. This time, the legislator Juan Burgos officialized the presentation of a second proposal of his authorship that seeks to provide workers with resources to relieve their economic difficulties.
According to him Bill 10327/2024-CTRemployees under the scope of Legislative Decree 276 may have 50% of the accumulated deposits in their CTS accounts until December 31 of this year. After that, the Executive Power will have the mission of regulating the norm within 7 business days since its entry into force.
“Many workers have accumulated resources in their CTS accounts that cannot be used in the short term except in case of cessation of employment, limitations that acquire greater relevance to global macroeconomic phenomena, such as high inflation and high costs of goods and services,” Read in the exposition of reasons for said law initiative.
