The Executive Power today approved granting tax benefits to the aquaculture, forestry, wildlife and tuna sectors. This, within the framework of the powers delegated by the Congress of the Republic, was reported by the head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Pedro Francke.
In detail, aquaculture companies, forestry and wildlife with net income of less than S / 7 million 500 thousand (1,700 UIT) will pay an income tax of 15% until 2030, that is, half of what they were currently charged.
While those companies with a turnover greater than 1,700 UIT will pay an income tax of 15% in 2022, but it will increase progressively. Mechanism similar to that of the agro-export sector.
“For the largest companies there is a reduction in Income tax, which would be 15% in 2022, but from there 20% in the next two years, 25% in the next three years and it will be equal to the general regime from 2028 ″, explained Francke.
The official also specified that the aquaculture sector will have the benefit of accelerated depreciation of 20%.
Regarding the tuna sector, the head of the MEF explained that now the tuna fleets would pay 2.7% of their gross income as income tax, currently the rate was 30%.
