MEF designates Wilder Bringas Usquiano as the new ONP boss

Appointment became official in the newspaper El Peruano after the resignation of Victorhugo Montoya, who held the position of Chief of the ONP since 2023.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance appointed lawyer Wilder Bringas Usquiano as the new head of the Office of Pension Standardization (ONP), in accordance with Supreme Resolution No. 010-2025-EF published in the Official Gazette El Peruano, Bringas will replace Victorhugo Montoya , who held the position since March 2023.

Precisely, this official presented his resignation at that position and immediately took place the appointment of the new ONP chief through a legal device that bears the signature of President Dina Boluarte and the Minister of Economy, José Salardí. One of the main challenges of Bringas management will be to improve the coverage of the pension system and ensure the entity’s financial sustainability.

The new head of the ONP He is a lawyer who has a broad trajectory as an administrative, regulatory and parliamentary teacher. Until November of last year, he served as National Intendant for Internal Legal Advice in the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT), a position he resigned in November 2024.

Other of his labor experiences were his role as head of the Office of Legal Advice for Troubles between 2022 and 2023. He was also an advisor to the Ministry of Labor, coordinator of the Deconcentrated Services offices in the National Superintendence of Sanitation Services (Sunass ) and Director of Policies and Corporate Governance in the Technical Agency of the Administration of Public Services (OTASS).

What is the Pension Standardization Office?

The ONP is a technical and specialized public body that manages the National Pension System (Decree Law 19990), the Social Security Regime for Fisheries Workers and Pensioners (Law 30003), among other State regimes.

The ONP It is attached to the MEF and is responsible for managing the state pension security of Peru.
