The National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy (SNMPE) asked the Minister of Energy and Mines, Eduardo Gonzáles Toro, to appoint the Vice Minister of Hydrocarbons, a sector that since the end of October has no head and has only been entrusted to the Vice Minister of Mines.
Through a letter signed by Pablo de la Flor, executive director of the SNMPE, they expressed their concern about the lack of appointment of officials who are experts in the Hydrocarbons sector in key positions such as the Vice Ministry of Hydrocarbons and the General Directorate of Hydrocarbons.
“The Hydrocarbons sector is going through an extremely difficult situation, which requires clear policies to promote the industry; And for this, it is necessary to have professionals with recognized experience; therefore, we ask you to consider the concern expressed in this letter and take the appropriate actions “, specifies the document sent by the SNMPE.
The manager of the mining-energy union also mentioned that a few days ago the General Directorate of Hydrocarbons was entrusted to the head of the General Office of Planning and Budget of the Ministry; however, he recalled that this position, due to its technical position, “has been occupied by professionals with proven experience and capabilities in the sector.”
