Round table bets on digital commerce and Alista unique platform for 2026

“Next year we may launch a unique platform that brings together all round table entrepreneurs,” Pablo Goytizolo, spokesman for the Round Table Entrepreneurs, told the Republic.

In conversation with this newspaper about the 2025 school campaign, Goytizolo stressed that the rise of electronic commerce has led to the Round table entrepreneurs to modernize their businesses and expand their sales to platforms such as Facebook and Tiktok. Currently, of the 18,000 formal entrepreneurs, only 40% have ventured into digital trade.

Although they have been training in this model for three years, the adaptation remains a challenge. According to Goytizolo, it is because selling online is not just to upload products to a platform: it implies identifying new markets, investing in segmentation strategies and attracting customers in a highly competitive environment.

The Round Table Entrepreneurs Workshops is still promoted to new entrepreneurs, with the aim that retirement importers share their experience and “leave their mark” in the next generation of merchants.

Chancay Puerto: Chinese VS Peruvian Products

On the other hand, Goytizolo warned that Peruvian merchants face a new challenge with the inauguration of the port of Chancay, since greater competition is expected to the possible income of more Chinese manufacturers to the local market.

“It will test the ability of Peruvian importers to stay competitive,” said the round table spokesman.

Today, Goytizolo explained, approximately 80 Chinese importers operate in the country, benefiting from incentives granted by their government, which can cover until the 30% of merchandise shipping cost. This advantage allows them to offer more competitive prices and access a more efficient network of contacts in their nation of origin.

On the contrary, the Peruvian importers They face various difficulties, including the language barrier and the absence of state incentives that allow them to compete in equitable conditions, despite the existence of national manufacturers with innovative products. They also have fewer opportunities for business trips, which limits their ability to establish direct commercial relationships.
