Luis del Carpio Castro today assumed the Executive Directorate of Proinversion through Supreme Resolution No. 006-2025-EFissued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF). In his first pronouncement, he stressed that, if the current rhythm of investments is maintained, in four years the short -term infrastructure gap could be closed.
“If Proinversion follows this rhythm (investments) in four years we can close the short -term infrastructure gap,” he said.
According to the El Peruano portal, the Executive takes as reference the amount close to US $ 9,000 million through 16 awards through public-private partnerships (app) and projects in assets. He also added that by 2025-2026 the challenge will be even greater with a project portfolio for US $ 16,000 million in key sectors such as sanitation, transport and health, with the aim of strengthening the confidence of investors and collaboration between the public sector and private.
Proinversion 2025: What projects are there?
Until April of this year, it is expected to award seven projects for more than US $ 2.8 billion, including the wastewater treatment plant (PTAR) Chincha, which will benefit 345 thousand neighbors in seven districts, four electrical projects in Apurímac, Arequipa , Lima and Puno, the longitudinal of the Sierra Section 4 and the Industrial Park of Ancón.
Del Carpio stressed that Proinversion is prepared to attract new strategic investments, highlighting that between 2023 and 2024 projects were completed for more than US $ 11.2 billion, which positions Peru again as an attractive destination for investment in public-private projects term.
