Commerce between Peru and El Salvador in numbers

The Mincetur points out that El Salvador It represents a strategic market for Peru in Central America, especially for its growing economy and an increasing demand for added products.

This Free Trade Agreement will open new opportunities for Peruvian exporters, allowing them to access a country with which we share a vision of integration and economic development in preferential conditions.

“With this agreement, we seek to consolidate a stable and predictable regulatory framework that will allow our economic operators, especially SMEs, make the most of the potential of our commercial relations,” added Minister León.

He stressed that the reduction of tariffs and trade facilitation will allow more Peruvian companies to export with greater competitiveness, diversifying their markets and contributing to the growth of employment and investment in our country.

For its part, the Minister of Economy of El Salvador stressed that the reactivation of negotiations represents a key opportunity to increase and diversify the commercial flows of goods and services between the two countries.

“This agreement will strengthen bilateral trade, facilitating the access of more Salvadoran products and services to the Peruvian market and vice versa, thus generating sustained growth and new business opportunities for our companies,” he said.

After the meeting, both ministers made a joint declaration, in which they highlighted their governments’ commitment to advance with determination in the negotiations and specify an agreement that promotes the economic growth of both countries.

The Peru Free Trade Agreement and El Salvador began to be negotiated since November 8, 2010.
