The ONP will also be instructed to evaluate the increase in pensions in favor of a dignified old age, according to Boluarte in his presidential message of July 28.
President Dina Boluarte announced that the National Labor Council (CNT) has been convened to agree on the increase of the Minimum Living Wagecurrently set at S/1,025.
“It should be implemented no later than the last quarter of this year,” Boluarte mentioned in his presidential message for July 28.
It is worth adding that the CNT is made up of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion, as well as trade union organizations and business associations.
As La República reported, the CNT already has a formula—recommended by the International Labor Organization—in which an annual period is established to evaluate the increase in the RMV: which could amount to S/1,168.
Boluarte added that the ONP will be instructed to also study the increase in pensions for retirees, who despite their work and effort, “are those who earn the least and deserve recognition to have a more dignified life.”
