The National Superintendent of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat), Gerardo López, reported that the country’s tax collection would have recovered 6.5% in July, according to preliminary data.
During the presentation of the Non-Deductible Expenses program, the head of Sunat said that, in the seventh month of the year, an improvement will be observed that will allow reaching the collection goals established in the Multiannual Macroeconomic Framework (MMF).
“There has been a revival of domestic demand in recent months and the monthly GDP figures have already been positive. The same happened with the June tax collection, when we closed with an increase of approximately 4%,” said López.
In this regard, the official assured that the Administration’s prospects are to reach the end of the year meeting the goals established by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).
“We are committed to achieving this goal. To this end, we have an action plan aimed at reaching the amounts established in the framework approved by the MEF,” he added.
