Which workers will benefit?
Congressman Flavio Cruz, belonging to the Peru Libre party, proposed through this bill, an additional economic allocation for workers in the public sector or private companies that carry out their work at an altitude higher than 1000 m above sea level. 4,000 meters above sea levelThis initiative seeks to recognize the efforts of these employees under special conditions, who face additional challenges due to the extreme height at which they work.
Economic allocation would amount to 10% of the Minimum Living Wage
The initial project establishes that the economic compensation is the granting of an additional amount to the salary received by workers representing 10% of the Minimum Vital Remuneration, which is currently S/1,025. Therefore, this economic incentive would be S/102.5. In this regard, this financial compensation would aim to improve the extreme conditions that can cause altitude illnesses of cerebral and pulmonary origin, which hinder the proper performance of their functions.
Labor Commission approves amendment to the Single Labor Certificate Law
On the other hand, the Labor Commission chaired by Congressman Pasión Dávila, approved with 7 votes in favor, 3 against and 1 abstention, the modification of article 2 of Law No. 31760, Law of the Single Labor Certificate. The modification of this rule specifies that the certificate will have data such as the Single Taxpayer Registry (RUC) in addition to the Registry of Debtors of Alimony (REDAM).
