AFP 2024: only until this day you can send your request to withdraw your funds

Thousands of citizens have still not been able to send their request to withdraw their funds from AFP. The schedule implemented by the Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS) is close to ending. You can currently request your money regardless of the last digit of your DNI.

However, many contributors are still unaware of the details of the process and the deadlines for submitting their requests. Below, we explain in a clear and detailed manner the procedure to request your withdrawal from the AFP in 2024, the important dates you should keep in mind and the estimated times to receive your money.

AFP: Until what date can you send your withdrawal request?

The ‘free’ option of the official schedule issued by the SBS allows members to submit their AFP withdrawal requests until Saturday, August 17, 2024. This period is crucial for those who, for various reasons, were unable to complete the procedure on the initial dates established. It is important to note that this option provides an additional window to ensure the disbursement of up to S/20,600.

It is essential that applicants comply with the deadline, as no more applications will be accepted under this schedule after August 17. SBS has been clear in its guidelines and has emphasized the importance of following the schedule to ensure an orderly and efficient process.

AFP withdrawal: How long does it take to deposit into my account?

This time may vary depending on specific factors, but the SBS has indicated that it will be completed in the shortest possible time. For those who wish to know the status of their application, it is possible to check it through the official website of the AFP Association.

AFP schedule: on which dates in July will I not be able to submit my application?

The ‘free’ schedule for the AFP withdrawal 2024 has certain restrictions in the month of July due to national holidays. Specifically, you will not be able to submit your application on July 23, which is Peruvian Air Force Day, or on July 29, during the Fiestas Patrias. These dates are important to keep in mind to plan your application and avoid setbacks.

How does the AFP system operate?

In Peru, the AFP (Pension Fund Administrators) system is a private pension scheme in which workers contribute a percentage of their salary to an individual capitalization account on a monthly basis. These contributions are managed by the AFPs, which invest the funds in different financial instruments to generate returns.

Upon reaching retirement age, members can choose between receiving a monthly pension or withdrawing their savings in a lump sum, depending on their needs and the amount accumulated in their account.
