The National Union of Professional Workers of Petroperú – SINAPROPP, expressed its rejection of the recent statements by the president of the board of directors of the state company, Oliver Stark, given to El Comercio, where he assured that they will sell the main building, reduce a third of their staff and bet by a private administration.
Through a statement, SINAPROPP assured that it took with “strong repudiation” the announcement of these measures that would limit the full exercise of the fundamental rights of Petroperú employees, deployed in OFP, Conchán, Talara and Iquitos.

They added that Stark, in his meeting on May 9, 2024, asked the workers to be strategic allies and go hand in hand with management and the board, which “does not coincide with the actions” of his recent words.
SINAPROPP urged Petroperú’s senior administration to reflect on what was announced and detail to staff the actions that will be carried out to avoid a national strike by workers.
“The working masses deserve to be the first to know the actions and decisions that the company will take in relation to its future and they deserve the respect that is not being given to them with this type of interviews that surprises everyone,” they concluded.
