More than 219,000 travelers used interprovincial transport this Christmas

The Superintendency of Land Transportation of People, Cargo and Merchandise (Sutran) reported that a total of 219,540 passengers made interprovincial trips nationwide between December 24 and 25, during the Christmas festivities.

Users were mobilized in a total of 3,659 interprovincial trips, operated from the 304 land terminals enabled nationwide and under the strict control of the Sutrán operational staff, deployed at strategic points to ensure compliance with security measures and protocols against the COVID-19.

The highest demand for passengers was presented in the central area of ​​the country, from where a total of 1,434 interprovincial trips and 86,040 mobilized passengers were registered; while, in the southern regions of Peru, 1,345 trips were made, transporting 80,700 users. In northern Peru, the number of trips reached 800, with a total of 52,800 passengers mobilized on both days.

Considering the starting point, Sutrán reported that, from Lima to the provinces, interprovincial transport companies mobilized 44,880 passengers, while 129,420 users were transported interregionally. Finally, the number of passengers mobilized from the provinces to Lima reached 45,240.

It should be noted that Sutrán maintains more than 900 inspectors deployed throughout the country, in order to inspect that the units comply with the technical requirements and health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These works are carried out jointly with the National Police of Peru.

Simultaneously, the Management and Monitoring Center (CGM-SUTRAN) performs GPS control of the movement of buses and reports events or incidents that may occur on national roads.

The supervisory body reminds all users of the importance of always resorting to authorized land terminals and having the Safe Travel mobile application, through which they can review the driver and vehicle data, as well as the authorizations and certificates that the vehicle.

Likewise, it emphasizes the obligation, for all travelers over 18 years of age, to present the vaccination card with the double dose against the coronavirus, or a molecular test with a negative result taken up to 72 hours before their trip. .
